Pedro Muñoz Seca es un autor nacido en El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) en 1879 y fallecido en Paracuellos de Jarama (Madrid) en 1936. Se lo consideró en su época uno de los dramaturgos de pluma más afilada y capacidad satírica para diseccionar su sociedad contemporánea. En vida disfrutó de gran predicamento por sus obras teatrales humorísticas, en especial las que ridiculizaban a la II República Española. Murió fusilado en los inicios de la Guerra Civil Española por sus ideas conservadoras, aunque su obra pervive como una de las más señeras del teatro español de principios del siglo XX.
