This ebook of African Journal of Economic and Management Studies (AJEMS) explores labour issues in Africa's agricultural sector and rural transformation. The thematic issue is to investigate how the agricultural sector, which remains the largest 'employer' of African labour countries, could be transformed to unlock its potentials. The literature documents a positive relationship between the intensity of labour productivity and rural transformation. The importance of agriculture to the welfare of the households in Africa has been articulated in the extant literature. Also, there have been growing interests within the academia and the policy-making spheres regarding the transformation agenda towards productivity in Africa.
