Autorenporträt
Dr. Martha Casas has been in the field of education for over thirty years. She worked as an elementary and middle school teacher and later as a professor in a teacher education program.

She is qualified to write this book as her research has been primarily with middle school students, and she has come to know how youngsters of this age group think and act. In addition, she has worked with middle school students who have attempted suicide or were contemplating taking their own lives.

Currently, Dr. Casas lives in El Paso, Texas. She remains active in education, primarily focusing on young teens through church organizations. She enjoys embroidery and reading mystery novels, and she also owns a St. Bernard who keeps her on the go.
