Andrew Moon enjoyed a successful career as a Manager, General Manager, Managing Director and CEO of many varied and interesting companies in a wide range of countries and situations. From start-ups to liquidations, his career took him from Sydney, Australia, where he grew up and was educated, to: Melbourne, Australia; London, U.K., Jakarta, Indonesia; Hong Kong; Sydney, Australia, again; Dayton, Ohio, USA; and back to Melbourne, Australia. His travels took him to most countries in Asia; North and South America; many European countries and Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific nations.
During that career, he had dealings with every level of business from sole operators to Ministers of State and all those in between, as he rose to the level of Manager of an autonomous operation at the age of 21 and to become a Chief Executive at the age of 29. In all, he spent nearly 3 decades "at the top".
Along that journey, Andrew suffered a variety of health and financial setbacks and has, as a result, learned a vast amount about life, people, management and leadership (and the difference between them!) and about himself.
This memoir recounts some of these stories, the people whom he met and the lessons that he learned along his life's rich and twisting path.
Andrew retired from corporate life after the removal of a benign brain tumour and lives, with his wife, Liz, in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland, Australia.

Autorenporträt
An extremely passionate and experienced senior executive, I drove businesses with the discipline and compassion required of a highly effective organisation. I combined my professionalism with outstanding leadership and communication abilities, delivered at the highest level. I was, most recently, CEO of Ansvar Insurance Limited, responsible for the Australian and New Zealand operations of this subsidiary of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group of the UK. I was responsible for a businesses that employed nearly 200 staff and dealt with specialised general insurance. I reorganised a disparate group of entities, changed its culture, streamlined operations and reduced costs and produced very positive effects on the company's culture, service offering and bottom line. Previously CEO of Billback Systems, a leading software development and sales company, I led it to sustained revenue growth and superior profitability, in three countries. I understand a business's issues and delivered solutions which were beyond expectations. As CEO of a successful, innovative software solutions company which employed over 70 people, I took on the company when results had diminished by nearly 80% year-on-year and rebuilt the company to a profitable concern which was acquired by Reckon Limited. Previously CEO of Tower Life's Australian operations, I was responsible for a business that employed nearly 1,000 staff and dealt with life insurance, general insurance and wealth management. I reorganised the business, changed its culture and substantially reduced costs. That change programme produced very positive effects on the culture of the company, its service standards and profit. At Colonial State Bank, I was General Manager of Corporate Banking and a member of the Executive Team. Responsible for 160 people, I was a member of the Bank's Credit Committee and one of the members of the Executive team reporting to the MD. Dealing with the top-200 companies, I re-organised the unit, reduced staff and grew the business by 100% in two years, changing the culture of the division from reactive and passive to proactive and sales oriented. A confident and passionate Senior Executive, Mentor and Consultant with huge passion, genuine enthusiasm and experience in a variety of disciplines and in many countries, I have appeared on stage in many plays, spoken publicly in many forums and a have written six plays and this, my memoir, about which I am very passionate.
