John has travelled widely and published ecological surveys from Papua New Guinea and Philippines before devoting the past decade to management and ecological monitoring of the iconic Tetepare Island in the Solomon Islands, the subject of his second book ¿The Last Wild Island: Saving Tetepare¿. John and his wife Katherine now manage their ecological consultancy `ecological horizons¿ (www.ecologicalhorizons.com )from their 26000 hectare heritage scrub block `Secret Rocks¿ on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, along with their family of three girls.
