"A comprehensive, how-to guide for leaders..." Alison Whitmire, President Learning In Action Technologies Inc.

Unlock the secrets to transformative leadership that puts people first, reduces stress, and drives unparalleled results.

In today's fast-paced, ever-evolving world, effective leadership is more crucial than ever. Leading at the Speed of People offers a transformative approach to leadership that places people at the heart of every decision. Drawing on over three decades of experience in leadership, coaching, and behavioral health, Dr. Donley provides a roadmap for leaders who aspire to lead with empathy, reduce stress, and create a positive impact.

The book is divided into three parts:

Part I: The Making of a Leader

This section explores the journey of becoming an effective leader. Dr. Donley delves into the costs of ineffective leadership and the essential elements that define good leadership. Through personal anecdotes and practical advice, readers learn the importance of self-leadership and how to define their unique leadership style.

Part II: Minimize Stress to Drive Success

Leaders are often overwhelmed by the demands of their roles. This section focuses on strategies to reduce friction and create a healthy, respectful work environment. Techniques for managing stress, respecting oneself, and fostering a culture where employees can thrive are introduced. Key concepts include the importance of communication, setting clear expectations, and creating a supportive workplace.

Part III: Connecting for Impact

At its core, leadership is about building relationships. In this section of the book, the power of connection is emphasized through the CARE model©: Communication, Appreciation, Respect, and Empathy. This section provides actionable insights on how to connect with and inspire others, leading with empathy, and unleashing human potential. Readers will learn how to navigate difficult conversations, provide constructive feedback, and create an inclusive, trauma-informed work environment.

Throughout the book, Dr. Donley combines her extensive knowledge with practical tools and exercises, making Leading at the Speed of People a comprehensive guide for leaders at all levels. Whether you are a seasoned executive or a new manager, this book offers valuable lessons on how to lead with confidence, ultimately achieving greater impact and results.
