The articles collected here focus on living churches as dynamic structures. They stand for communion, institution, the lived experience of community, authority and interaction as well as organisation. This volume has two main aims: the first is to realign and interpret what has been a well-known topic for many years. The liveliness of churches is an age-old theme insofar as it is generally a facet of efforts towards spiritual renewal. The second aim is to make visible practical experiences in which religiosity and ecclesiality are combined in a harmonious or dynamic manner. Both aims serve to provide perspectives for the practice of vital, vitalised and revitalised churches and the scholarly study thereof.
