He now renews his affair with Lady Monica, and he also sets his sights on Eveline Lanyon, the daughter of the proprietor of The Morning Chronicle. Harry hopes to further his career by marrying Eveline, but he knows that her parents will never approve of the marriage, so he persuades the innocent young girl to elope with him. After her virtue has been compromised in this way, Eveline's parents have no choice but to give their blessing to the union between their daughter and Harry. Length of story is over 45,000 words.
