The "Our People in Hollywood" series is a complex and fascinating biographies of major film figures - emigrants and people from emigrant families. This is a story about people who, despite the difficulties of emigrant life, reached the pinnacle of their creative activity and wrote names in the history of world cinema. Irwin Lazar (1907-1993) was known among his friends under the nickname Swifty, which means "nimble", "dynamic" - this is what he was throughout his life, surrounded by the most famous writers, film directors, and Hollywood stars. He helped most of them become like that, because without an energetic agent they couldn't get through in Hollywood. Illustrations by Alexander Steinberg.
