Precision Teaching (PT) is a behavioral method which stresses spontaneous, seemingly automatic behavior. This guarantees that learners with and without autism spectrum disorders (ASD) maintain the learned behavior, use it in novel situations, even when distracted. Critical elements of PT are described with programs of varying levels of complexity. The author discusses the critical elements of PT and provides case examples of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) including specific programs of varying complexity using the refined measurement of PT to promote fluency.
