A versatile performer, he has donned numerous roles and is best known for his appearances in Bollywood films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He has also acted in international movies like Best It Like Beckham and more recently, Silver Linings Playbook. He has received numerous Filmfare and Screen Awards. He is married to actress Kirron Kher.
