These letters were fueled by lust like King David's written order to murder his mistress's husband, libel like Queen Jezebel's letter falsely accusing a holy innocent named Naboth or liberation celebration like Mordecai's letter to the Jewish people in the Book of Esther.

Sadly some of these letters were written to destroy innocent people because of leaders' evil, selfish and self-righteous hearts. The injustice of using the power of the written word to harm innocent people in order to get what you want or cover up what you have done is egregious in secular society and particularly so in sacred society. Isaiah 10:1-2 warns leaders about what they write. "Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right form the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey and that they may rob the fatherless!"

We, whomever we are, king, queen, priest, prophet, psalmist, principal, politician, publisher, preacher, pray-er, person, need Jesus Christ to save us from ourselves, from our wicked proclivities and from our wicked pens.
