What is a "spirit," a spiritual being?

Spirit is consciousness. Spiritual reality is conscious reality. There are different planes or realms of existence that you can be conscious of being "in."

Right now you are conscious of being in this Earth plane of embodied existence. When your body dies the spirit who is "you" goes into a realm of conscious existence with no more physical bodies - though evidence strongly suggests we retain our electromagnetic aura body that "looks like" our physical body.

As a conscious being you are a spiritual being. Consciousness - and the information it directly experiences - is made of electromagnetic wave energy, which is light.

As a conscious being you are an immaterial spirit of light living in and experiencing an information environment that is also made of light..

When you wake up in the morning, your consciousness comes on.

When you have an out of body experience - a near death experience, a mystical experience, an astral travel experience - your consciousness leaves your body and has the experience then comes back into your body.

The conscious thing is you. "You" are having these experiences. Your body is not having the experiences. You are a conscious "spirit" who can exist in your body or out of your body.

Consciousness is an electromagnetic phenomenon. Electromagnetism is light. Our human consciousness is made of long wave low frequency light in the radio bandwidth that radio receiver instruments like electroencephalographs read as "brainwaves."

The evidence from human experience and neuropsychology - the science of the body-brain-consciousness relationship - is that our conscious electromagnetic spirit is generated by our brain in its "awake" state patterns of neuron firings. Electromagnetism is immaterial but nevertheless real and causally potent energy.

A thing that is made of conscious electromagnetism - made of conscious living light - is a "spirit." As conscious beings we are spiritual beings, spirits of light, immaterial electromagnetic beings made of real energetic stuff with our own causal powers that work by physics - the physics of spirit.

We are not "eternal souls" planted in these bodies from somewhere else. We begin our existence in these bodies in these lives on this Earth.

Your conscious spirit can exist in its material body in this Earthly life and can exist without its body in a purely spiritual afterlife realm of "heavenly" light because the conscious spirit who is "you" is literally made of light.

In 1975 I had a mystical experience in a heavenly realm of knowing loving Light. That state of being is Perfection, the perfection of what we are as conscious spiritual beings.

I knew the "me" who had the experience was my consciousness, not my body. "I" am a conscious being. Death is the end of embodied life but not the end of our existence as conscious spiritual beings.

Consciousness is an electromagnetic phenomenon and "light" is electromagnetic wave energy that works by the physics of wave mechanics. As conscious beings we are "spirits" - spiritual beings made of light. This understanding of consciousness, combined with my experiences in different realms of existence, led to what became The Physics of Spirit.

Meanwhile I remained an embodied spirit living in this material-spiritual world so I had to work and earn a living. I experienced the 1982 Depression where a booming economy suddenly went bust. All the people and all the resources were still there but the economy just stopped working. How does this happen?

It happens because of the debt-based money system. After the 2007-2008 monetary system failure I began writing in the financial blogosphere and between 2018-2020 I published 4 books describing how the money system works, why it fails, and how a debt-free money system can prevent debt-deflation depressions. This has been known and clearly explained by a series of monetary system reformers for over a century but nothing changed. Why?

Money is the command and control system that rules the world so the money problem is not merely an intellectual problem of not understanding. It is a political and even a spiritual problem of power retaining its grip on power.

In the Illusions Lost book I showed the simple arithmetic reason that a buy-sell for money economy cannot possibly work - other than to generate the kind of dystopian hellscape the Western world has been descending into over recent years and decades.

There are dark spiritual forces at work in this world pushing humanity along wrong paths. The Greek word apocalypse means unveiling - lifting the veil and revealing what is beneath it. We are living in apocalyptic times. In my books I lift some veils and show what is there.
