What you don't know CAN hurt you!

Whether you already have life insurance or you know you need it - this book is for you! Too many consumers never think about life insurance until they are sitting in front of an agent. Why is this the exact wrong time to learn about life insurance?

You will only know what your agent tells you! Sure, you probably already know some things but you don't know what you don't know. Life Insurance "Dirty Little Secrets" lays out life insurance concepts in a simple, easy-to-understand book. It's written for the "average Joe", not for insurance professionals. What does it cover?

What's Inside...

  • What every consumer should know - before and after you buy
  • How to find and secure the right coverage to protect your family from financial ruin
  • How to protect your whole family affordably and why you should do it sooner than later
  • How to include life insurance in your wealth building plan
  • What insurance companies to avoid like the plague.
  • How to find the right policy for you with the right insurance company.
  • Why certain types of policies are disasters waiting to happen.
  • The seemingly innocent but nasty check box on every insurance application - and why you should absolutely leave it unchecked! ("Dirty Little Secret" #4)
  • Never fall for this sneaky policy loan trick! (It could cost you big time!)
  • Why so many people have the wrong coverage and the rude awaking that awaits them.
  • And more!

As a life insurance agent since 2013 and a life insurance consumer since 1996, Life Insurance "Dirty Little Secrets" for Consumers Revealed! explains basic life insurance concepts in simple, easy-to-understand language.

Why is "Dirty Little Secrets" in quotes?

First of all, they aren't really secret. Everything is this book is public knowledge, available to anyone who asks the right questions. That said, few insurance professionals or companies will volunteer what I call "secrets". When they do, they don't always tell you the whole story. Are they really "dirty"? Well, that is a matter of opinion. Take for example a loan on a cash value insurance policy. Nearly every agent will tout how you can borrow against your cash value. Nearly every insurance company makes it fairly easy to borrow those funds. Great. When you go to pay that loan back, will they say you must specifically tell them to apply that money to the loan otherwise they'll simply prepay your premium? And since your premium is prepaid your loan continues to accrue interest on the entire balance? It happens! You be the judge as to whether I'm too harsh calling this common practice a "dirty little secret". You'll learn about this and more inside.

Autorenporträt
Born in 1958, Andrew Havens grew up in a small town in a sparsely populated county in Western New York. From early essays on bloodthirsty kittens to discourses on political maniacs, he's found something to write about since he first learned to hold a pencil at about age twelve. After being tossed out of school with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in hand, he managed to find gainful employment bouncing between sales, writing, and information technology, sometimes juggling all three at once. There seems to be an ongoing debate as to whether his sales skills enabled him to land writing gigs or his writing skills landed him the sales jobs. Some suspect dumb luck had a part to play in all of it. After acquiring his life insurance license in 2013, he worked off and on in that industry until deciding to go "all in" in 2020. While his efforts were less than stellar, he learned enough about the slimy underside of the business to go through with this threat to reveal all. Either that or he simply decided to share some insights he'd gained deserving the light of day. Since then he's been holed up in his rural Virginia writing cave devising devious plans to publish his first novel.
