Isaac Mason (1822-?) was born a slave in Maryland. His father was a free man, and his mother was a slave. After being abused by several masters, Mason escaped to freedom at the age of 25 in Delaware. He wrote an autobiography titled Life of Isaac Mason as a Slave.
