The author's gift is the third ear and her prose is a culmination of what she heard the Veteran's saying; how they lived and continue to live. The changes heard from deep within them don't make the news. Moreover, images of their experiences as seen through the eyes of a nurse/social worker, a fellow human being who has struggled with life's darker side when we sign up to care, protect and serve others; one changes. With forty-four years of services to others this does not begin to elucidate what our Veterans have experienced. Listening, one hears their voices. It is the quiet, powerful voice of Courage. Read the prose captured on the pages of this book and you shall hear their voices also.
