Every 3 minutes, somewhere in the world, a family hears the devastating words that their child has been diagnosed with cancer, sickle cell, bronchiolitis, or another life-threatening illness that turns their world upside down. And every day, these children wake up with a big beautiful smile ready to play, tell a joke to help ease their families aching heart and be the brave little warrior that they are, just like you. Little Warriors of Salvation Children's Hospital is a book that contains four short stories about four kids going through the same thing you are going through. The little boy who is afraid to stay overnight in the hospital. Or the girl going through chemotherapy and is scared of losing her hair and much more. Autorenporträt
Since a child, Daneisha, always knew to work with children, was something she wanted to do. That meant being a teacher, a nurse, a director of a non-profit, or even a therapist. But, never would she have thought she would be an author of children's books. It was not until she met her spouse Rodney and her best friend Monet that childhood illness became close to her. Her niece was diagnosed with sickle cell, and her best friend's cousin passed away from cancer at the sweet age of seven. Never having the right words, or books to give her niece when she was in and out of the hospital is what moved Daneisha to write Little Warriors of Salvation Children's Hospital. This book is like no other. Children who are battling these same types of illnesses, and many more can finally open a book and feel normal. She dedicates this book to her niece Tamia McGee, her best friend's cousin Brianna Walker may she rest in peace and all the little warriors around the world who lost their battle and the ones still fighting.
