Live Til I Die is set back against the backdrop of the turbulent years of World War II. It is loosely based on the authors fathers experiences as a decorated spitfire pilot. The human drama is mostly fictional but does have some elements of family history in it. The war effort is described mainly from a Canadian perspective and primarily from the point of view of war in the air.

Autorenporträt
Barry Thorpe was born and raised in small town Ontario and educated at the University of Toronto. After a forty-five-year career in the corporate world and real estate, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of the red blood cells and bone marrow, and was forced into retirement. At that point, he had two choiceslie down and wait for the inevitable or create something positive. This book is the result of taking the latter course of action. Along the way, he has enjoyed wonderful support from his wife, family, and friends, and the strides he has madeboth with his illness and his creative effortcould not have been done without them.
