News reports of a London terrorist bombing inexplicably go quiet. Then from out of the electronic noise of social media comes a post from an alleged survivor, who claims to have witnessed the truth of what happened that day. It was never a terrorist attack but a battle between super human beings.

What starts with incredulity soon escalates into a social media frenzy as literally hundreds of supposed witnesses share their account. Among the spam, the shit-posters and the lies, a vague narrative forms. It is clear there is something significant being expressed, but what?

The story unfolds via posts on the decentralised social media platform Mastodon. Contains descriptions of violence.

Lydia is an online apparition who frequents the Fediverse and you can follow her there (currently) at: @[e-mail]. She is just some nobody with an art school background, who lives in London, writes stories in her spare time, owns a cat and loves noisy, avant-garde music.

Lydia often writes futurist worlds, which she describes as Synehitopian that is, a continuation of our current political and technological landscape rather than a strictly dystopian future. Her stories explore manipulation, control and power dynamics, and people's willingness to succumb to the rule of corporate hegemony.
