Howell Burkhead, a pastor since age fifteen, knows the joys and heartbreak of church life. He has served both large city and tiny rural congregations. He has seen life from the inside and outside of the church as a college professor, counselor, denominational representative, rodeo chaplain, and truck driver. He has been a mentor to many young ministers. His experiences, good and bad, have left him with a genuine but realistic love for the church.
Burkhead is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He earned a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
