Autorenporträt
E. H. Williams actually lived this story, but in reverse. She moved from Austin, Texas, to Kaiserslautern, Germany, following her husband's new assignment. Even as an adult she found it the challenging to learn a new language, eat different foods, use metric measurements, and feel LOST. Once she ordered an ice cream cone holding up her index finger because she couldn't speak German. She got two cones. She learned that Germans begin counting with their thumb, and she didn't see the thumb. She FOUND herself by travelling. She wrote her experiences in three travel books called, Hello Thank you Goodbye, Faraway Friends, and Dancing with Chopsticks.
