Debbie Eddy was born August 1950 to military parents, Milton & Georgia Corbin while stationed overseas. Debbie was raised and brought up in a Christian home from the age of two as her parents accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord upon returning to America. Debbie received Jesus as her savior at the age of nine. God had dealt with her heart concerning sin and disappointing God and her earthly father through her disobedience. Her father was a deacon in the church and her mother taught young girls and sang in the choir. Debbie was raised in a very strict military type, christitan home. From her teenage years into her first marriage at seventeen she spent many years breaking rebellion and learning the importance of obedience. teenage years. Debbie remarried in her late twenties to her present husband Larry. Debbie having three children and Larry having two children they were referred to as the "Eddy Bunch." The seven of them joined The Church of Acts in Corpus Christi, TX approximately 35 years ago. This is the time in their lives that this book became a seed and has grown into a book of the trials and tribulations they have encountered over the years. Through those years, Debbie was ministered to with private prayer and counseling. Through her stages of growth God did a great work in her life. She became obedient and sensitive to God's voice and has been delivered and restored from rejection, rebellion, fear, emotional problems and lack of self esteem. Debbie and her husband Larry were Children's Ministers seven years in their church's, and Youth Directors for two years. They wrote curriculum and taught a class for a year for Blended Families. Both were ordained; Larry, as an ordained Elder and Debbie Ordained as Minister of the Gospel. Over the years Debbie has written many children's books and skits for their church. Lately writing curriculum for Vacation Bible School for her home church and mission work. She also has taken part in writing children's TV programs that are aired on a local Public Access Station weekly. Debbie began to write this book approximately twenty years ago, when they were transferred to San Antonio with her husbands job. They were given their first computer, by some friends that worked with them in their church Youth Group. Debbie's husband is very electronically knowledgeable, and Debbie, well she was scared to death that she would ruin it! When her husband was at work she would try to type on the computer, getting stuck, not knowing what to do and cry thinking she had ruined it. God had been putting the desire in Debbie's heart to write for awhile. They had raised their five children and many others that needed their love and care. They had found themselves with five married children, and then grandchildren were on the way. Debbie felt from all the years of experience and overcoming in many situations; she had some things to say that would encourage others.! The desire to write had been planted in her and was trying to bud forth. Debbie began trying to write this book by hand, dreading the time she would have to learn to use a computer. The time had come! Debbie and Larry had committed not only to teach a Blended Family Class, but write the curriculum. There would be a parent class, teen sibling class, and child sibling class. Her husband spent many hours just sitting at the computer with her. Her husbands patience, and love gave encouragement and slowly taught Debbie step by step how to use their new computer. They both overcame, the books were typed and finished and the classes started. . Since then, God has allowed Debbie to write many newspaper articles, sermons, and children's lessons. Debbie finds herself now twenty years later, still learning new things with the computer. There has many years of stopping and starting because of inadequacies, disobedience, fear and just flat believing the enemies lies. Debbie is an overcomer and finds such joy to see this book finished and being published. Debbie's heart's desire is to bless people with the truth of what God has done for her through hard times. She believes if God can do it for her and Larry; God can do it for others too! They call their selves the Miracle Marriage, knowing without God it would not have happened! When Debbie is speaking with people, they are so surprised the understanding she has concerning what they are experiencing. Always with confidence in God, she will say, "Yes, God can help you! Yes, there is hope! The key is, don't give up, trust God, stay close to Him and spend time with Him. Do not take counsel from the ungodly!"
