Asta Fung is sixteen years old and yearning for the past. To her great dismay, her parents have moved her family in order to run a Chinese takeaway in another town. Forced to give up her old school and friends, and even put her loving dog, Steve, up for adoption, Asta is furious.
When her grandfather, Charlie, passes away, the Fung family move into his old flat. Renovations uncover Asta's grandfather's love letters under the floorboards, signed by an old flame named Ela. Tasked with a new mission and determined to keep his memory alive, Asta embarks on a journey to find Charlie's mysterious lost love. But who knows if Ela is even still alive or where to begin?
