This book is a personal account of my life over the last couple of years, which also coincided with all the uncertainties that became prevalent as Covid became a global factor. The story starts in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta where I worked and fought battles with elephants. It takes a slight turn as love enters my life and a relationship starts forming. Cancer and Covid simultaneously impacted on both my work life and lovelife and the focus shifts towards challenges of having to stay sane and alive in a time where nothing is certain and movement is limited, in Cape Town, South Africa.
The journey continues as internal battles are fought and many kilometers are travelled in the quest to find happiness and health amidst very difficult external circumstances. The battle against cancer is a losing one and my personal state of physical health and mental health is facing a constant barrage of negativity and deteriorates as the time progresses. There is an emphasis on these struggles and the outcomes of the decisions and choices made along the way.
Once all hope seems lost the search begins to find ways to see the light and move forward with life. It is then when the personal road trip begins, which takes me back into the nature of Botswana with three strangers by my side. The process of healing and the quest to dream again begins. The journey is long and the roads are tough, but the magic shared along the way provides some reprieve and enjoyment in life.
When the wheel falls off completely, all seems lost, but somehow I have to find a way to keep on walking...
The adventure takes you through four different countries in Southern Africa during a time when travelling is often restricted, but the journey and the quest continues to find light, love and healing, through travelling in the wild nature.
