MacDowell, who wrote, produced, and directed an award-winning feature film, which won a prestigious award at the MWFF says; "I love the idea of turbulent relationships that take place behind closed doors, often the result of oppressive societal norms from previous centuries. It was wild in the 1700s to think that a woman and a maid would hook up, find a strange kind of love and exploit it sexually - yet it happened all of the time. I suppose I'm one of the few writers brave enough to depict it. It's certainly unlike anything else on the market."
