Marigold is an imaginative girl who has plenty of adventures and fantasies growing up, many with her eccentric playmate, Sylvia! A book full of beauty and magic, not to be missed by fans of L. M. Jane of Lantern Hill is the story of an unsatisfied girl living with her mother, aunt and cranky old grandmother in Toronto, Ontario. Jane had always believed her father dead, but one day discovers he is alive and living on Prince Edward Island. When Jane eventually gets to meet her father and spends a summer on the island at Lantern Hill, she believes life couldn't get any better than that.

Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on 30th November 1874, New London, in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island. Her mother, Clara Woolner (Macneil), died before Lucy reached the age of two and so she was raised by her maternal grandparents in a family of wealthy Scottish immigrants. In 1908 Montgomery produced her first full-length novel, titled 'Anne of Green Gables'. It was an instant success, and following it up with several sequels, Montgomery became a regular on the best-seller list and an international household name.
