Autorenporträt
Dr. Sabina Haber-Pohlmeier was a scientist at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry at RTWH Aachen before moving to the University of Stuttgart, with close connections to the Research Center Jülich. Having received her PhD in chemistry from University of Bielefeld in the field of dynamic light scattering in the time and frequency domains she worked as a Lise Meitner Fellow on Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) before moving to the field of NMR. Her research focuses on relaxometry, especially fast field cycling relaxometry, of fluids in porous media, spatially resolved studies in soil-plant systems, investigation of transport processes and combination of MRI with complementary non-invasive tomographic methods such as neutron imaging. During her time in Aachen she spent several research stays at institutes in the USA, New Zealand and Canada. Prof. Blümich is cofounder of the series of International Conferences on Magnetic Resonance Microscopy. He was Chair of Macromolecular Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University and is cofounder and director of Magritek Ltd., a manufacturer of tabletop NMR spectrometers and the NMR-MOUSE. His work aims at understanding the macroscopic properties of polymer and porous materials on a microscopic and molecular scale employing novel NMR methods and instrumentation. His recent work focuses on compact NMR instruments for non-destructive materials testing such as studies of tangible cultural heritage and for high-resolution spectroscopy for chemical analysis. Luisa Ciobanu is currently Research Director at NeuroSpin, CEA-Saclay. She received her doctorate in Physics from the Ohio State University and has held research appointments at the Beckman Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Pfizer, Inc. Her current research focuses on the development of new techniques for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at high and ultra-high magnetic fields for the understanding of fundamental physical principles underlying biological function.
