Timmy was 18 years old, living at home, and unemployed. He lacked a sense of purpose or direction in life. He was in college, but his grades were slipping. Most of his days were wasted watching Netflix and playing video games alone in his room. A room that he'd let get very messy and cluttered over time.

Timmy was 18 years old, living at home, and unemployed. He lacked a sense of purpose or direction in life. He was in college, but his grades were slipping. Most of his days were wasted watching Netflix and playing video games alone in his room. A room that he'd let get very messy and cluttered over time.

His mom kept nagging him to clean it up, thinking it was a metaphor for his life. But Timmy never seemed to find the time to get around to cleaning. He hated cleaning. That was, however, until his warlock father decided to cast a little magic spell to "make" him want to clean not just his own room, but lots of rooms, everywhere. Timmy couldn't find his own purpose or passion in life, so his parents gave him one. And in the process, Timmy's dad finally got the ideal daughter he'd always wished for...

Autorenporträt
Origins

It was the summer leading into his freshman year of high school. DK and his best friend loved playing outside, imagining they were superheroes having adventures in their own backyard. One day, just for fun, DK wrote a short story starring their own imaginary characters. It had everything -- action, adventure, a love story, and an epic battle between good and evil at the end.

On that day, DK discovered he loved writing fiction. It wasn't long before he wrote another short story, then another, and another.

Inspirations

Growing up, DK read, watched, and was influenced by a variety of superhero, science-fiction, and fantasy stories. Some personal favorites included Back to the Future, Star Trek, Harry Potter, The Avengers, Justice League, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and countless others. He grew up in a family of geeks and nerds.

In particular, he discovered he loved transformation stories. There was just something fascinating, exciting, and fun about them. Especially gender transformation stories. The Wotch was one of his top favorite webcomics.

For the Joy of It

For more than a decade, he wrote just for himself. He'd occasionally share a story with a friend or girlfriend, but most of the time, no one ever saw a word. Writing was a form of play and a gift for himself. Something he simply loved doing for its own sake.

But he also wanted to share his stories with more people. Initially, he went through a traditional publisher. But later he created SciFantastica.com as a central place to self-publish all his creative work.

Home Life

When he's not writing, DK enjoys playing tabletop board games with friends, going on relaxing nature walks, and binge watching sitcoms and sci-fi/fantasy shows. He lives with roommates and furry and feathery pets in Los Angeles.
