The Camino de Santiago began as a religious pilgrimage where devoted followers of christ walked hundreds of miles from their doorstep to the famed cathedral in Santiago, Spain. It has since evolved into various established routes for anyone and any reason. It has become a quest for the nobody, the somebody, religious, atheist, young, old, common, eccentric, you, and me. This journal recounts my tale from hiking 410 miles from Lisbon to Santiago, at times alone and other times in strange company. Walk with me through these pages and discover the painful allure, charm, and one-of-a-kind experience it is to be a pilgrim on the mystical Camino de Santiago.
