James Allanson Picton (1832-1910), born in Liverpool, was an independent minister and a radical member of the House of Commons. A prolific speaker and writer on religion and politics, his works include The Bible in School (1901), The Religion of the Universe (1904), Pantheism (1905), and a biography of his father, Sir James A. Picton.
