This research book deals with the topic of marriage and the development of society across different historical eras and eras. In the five chapters of the book, marriage as a concept and its purposes is presented, as well as the historical development of marriage in the first human societies, since the emergence of life on Earth, and the various marriage systems that developed in the eras of humanity. He presented the historical development of marriage in Egyptian society, and the societies it influenced, since the succession of Egyptian society with its Pharaonic systems and traditions, the civilizations of the Greeks and Romans, and the spread of Christianity under the Roman Empire until the Arab-Islamic conquest. He discussed the possibility of developing unified legislation for personal status in modern Egyptian society, no matter how different it may be. Religion or sect.. The author tried to develop objective solutions to the three problems that hinder the unification of personal status laws, which are divorce, polygamy, and the form of marriage. What distinguishes this book is that it deals with the subject in a simplified manner for the average reader, despite taking the features of solid scientific research.
