C. Laird Birmingham is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where he was previously Professor of Medicine. He has been treating people for over thirty-five years as inpatients, outpatients, and in residential care and has pioneered several new internationally recognised treatments for eating disorders.
