Nikolai Leskov (1831 - 1895) was one of the greatest Russian writers and storytellers in the golden age of Russian literature. He is a prolific writer, and his works are amazingly diverse. Most of his works were dominated by a charming, sarcastic tone, and it is difficult to classify his works under one literary genre due to their extreme diversity. He is one of these great talents who disappeared for some periods as a result of the political and social conflict that raged in Russia during his time, and continued after that for a long time.
