The ship's crew, made up mostly of merchants, had lost their lives to rough seas. Only the captain survived to rescue the posse.

The ship is wrecked in the treacherous waters surrounding Greece.

Fast forward: The writing of the autobiography is interrupted during WW2, when the author is taken into exile by her own demise.

Will her descendants continue with the book, filling in the gap, and how will it end?
