Indeed, the phrase of Al-Qadi Al-Jurjani in the beginning of his book : "Mediation between Al-Mutanabbi and his opponents," in which he defines the constants of Arab taste in poetry (and perhaps the first early reference to what was later called the poetry column) emphasizes the concern for clarity of meaning and the rejection of ambiguity. And vagueness, and this phrase says: "The Arabs used to differentiate between poets in terms of quality and beauty, based on the honor and correctness of the meaning, and the abundance and integrity of the pronunciation, and the precedence in it was given to the one who described and was correct, and the similarity and was close, and the one who appeared and was abundant, and to the one whose proverbs and stray verses were many, and did not bother with generalization and conformity. It is not full of creativity and metaphor if it has the poetry column and the Qarid system."
