He holds a joint appointment at NYU Shanghai and the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies in New York City. Daniel Brandau is a postdoctoral research associate at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Tilmann Siebeneichner is a postdoctoral research associate at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Germany.
