"Love" is the second book of the six-volume autobiographical cycle "My Struggle" by a classic of modern Norwegian literature. Karl Uwe leaves his wife and moves from Norway to Sweden, where he meets Linda. With infinite tenderness and sometimes shocking frankness, he talks about their passionate romance with countless quarrels and reconciliations. Soon their eldest daughter is born, followed by another daughter and a son. The exhausting everyday life of the father of three children begins. Much annoys the hero: both the ambition of fellow writers and conformism as the norm of life in a country that is foreign to him. Yet this is where inspiration comes back to him. Not without difficulty breaking free even for a couple of hours a day from the family routine, he gives himself up to creativity - his main struggle.
