Twins Maya and Rumi have just turned ten. Their mother's childhood teacher gifted them two unique handcrafted dolls made out of scraps of wool, leather, and cloth. Rumi named her doll Miri, and Maya called hers Jade. The twins loved their new dolls, but they felt the dolls' clothing was old-fashioned and out of style. They decided to handmake clothing for Miri and Jade. Problem is, they didn't know how. Unbeknown to them Maya, Rumi and their rabbit, Hazel, were about to embark on a magical journey of discovery and creativity that would change their lives and inspire the world. Starting with nothing more than silkworm eggs, cotton seeds, a mulberry tree, and their imagination, they transform both their backyard and the planet into a world of wonder and sustainability, one stitch at a time.
