ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sombra Martes, along with her younger brother Esteban, spent her childhood summers with their paternal grandmother in northern Oaxaca. Sombra learned the ways of a curandera from her grandmother while Esteban sought out the company of reclusive brujos. Sombra now offers her services as a healer of the body and Esteban offers his services as a spiritual bodyguard.
Inspired by her lifelong love of comic books, Sombra decided to write this somewhat fictionalized account of her own and her brother's experiences.
