The jack-o'-lanterns, with their wicked smiles and evil glares, are gone for another year. The turkey are happy to announce that Thanksgiving has come and gone. There are few to be seen. Inside all the houses of Waterford, trees are being raised and decorated from top to bottom with sparkling lights, hanging bulbs for kitties to swat, and candies to fill many a dream. Such was the case in the Lion house one late December day until Jack, the policeman, knocked on the front door. Then, the season of giving became something different. That is the day when something, when someone, was taken away. That someone is being Lazar and Jingles's cousin, Bunson Bear. He is missing. He vanished. In his room one moment. Gone the next. Unexplained. Now, it's time for Jack to try to explain it with the help of Lazar, Jingles, and Fletcher. What does a footprint with the initials M. T. in the hill have to do with Bunson's disappearance? What does its appearance in Waterford's mysterious Riverside Grove Park have to do with Bunson's vanishing? Why do Lazar, Jingles, and Fletcher all have a shared memory of a being with strange, fiery red eyes? Who is this mysterious figure whom they all struggle to remember? Where is he now? Strange craft has begun appearing in Waterford's skies. At the same time, as they've appeared, all of Waterford's candy has begun to disappear. What is the connection? Where is Bunson in all of this? What role does he have in it, if any? Not everything is as it seems. Mirrors reveal truths. But none more so than they which are in strange places!
