Misalliance is a play written by George Bernard Shaw. The play takes place entirely on a single Saturday afternoon in the conservatory of a large country house in Hindhead, Surrey in Edwardian era England. It is a continuation of some of the ideas on marriage that he expressed in his play, Getting Married. It was also a continuation of some of his other ideas on Socialism or physical fitness.

George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) was Nobel Prize-winning writer, political activist and critic. One of the most important writers of the twentieth century, he has been described as 'second only to Shakespeare in the British theatrical tradition'. Although he wrote over sixty plays, he is best remembered today for Man and Superman, Pygmalion and Saint Joan.
