If ever South Africans needed hope for their country, it is now! 2023!

This book offers not just hope for South Africa but a well-defined process we can all engage in towards the realisation of that hope. Known to be a nation with unique potential due to its diversity of people groups, we stand to gain a great deal from uniting and harnessing our country's rich variety of people resources, skills, cultures and qualities, to optimize its magnificent potential. As a nation, we have reached a T-junction where we can either continue on a downward trajectory or take advantage of the opportunity to deepen our democracy by empowering the majority of the citizenry to participate meaningfully in the governance of the nation. The significant decrease of voter turnout at the polls along with increasing protests are evidence of a people who feel alienated from the governance process and that their voices are not being heard by those in political authority.

This book enables the actualisation of the dream expressed in the Freedom Charter of 1955 and enshrined in the Constitution, which underpinned the formation of the new South Africa, namely:

"The People Shall Govern"

"...no government can justly claim authority unless it is based on the will of the People..."

"Every man and woman shall have the right to vote for and to stand as a candidate for public office and if elected to occupy that office... All people shall be entitled to take part in the administration of this country..."

This is a practical guide for Community leaders, Nation Builders, Independent Candidates, political party members, and active citizens who are devoted to the cause of turning our nation onto the path towards its greatest days of glory as a united, prosperous, peaceful, ethically governed, highly developed economic giant of Africa. A process towards achieving this goal, based on time-tested values that thorough research has shown conclusively to result in stable, sustainable societies, is meticulously described here. It is a detailed 'how to' for every citizen, providing a step-by-step process for developing community structures and a necessary process for them to organize themselves to become a strong 'people driven government' from local communities up all the way to provincial and national levels. It also offers guidelines and tools for the selection of credible public office leaders within the confines of a sound ethical value system.
