Salama Moussa believes in his introduction to the book that it is possible: "We can divide the new, or innovative, English literature into three sections, which are three phases: the phase of the pioneers, then the phase of the innovators, and finally the phase of the revolutionaries." Within these divisions, Musa clarifies several names of writers who contributed to the influence at each stage. In this book, the reader gets to know two poets who had a prominent influence on English literature: Shelley and Byron, as well as John Ruskin, William Morris, Bernard Shaw, T. S. Eliot, James Joyce... and many others. Among the names that the author mentions, along with an explanation of the time and events that she experienced and led her to take a specific path in literature.
