Autorenporträt

Reto Giacomo Zanoni, Jahrgang 1957, ist ein Schweizer Bürger aus Brusio GR. Er ist in einer wohlbehüteten Familie mit 5 Kindern in Samedan im Engadin aufgewachsen, wo er bis zur Matura des Typs B im Jahr 1977 das Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz besuchte. Anschließend studierte er in Zürich Veterinärmedizin und promovierte selbst im Bereich Veterinärvirologie. Ab 1984 war er Assistent, dann Dozent und schließlich assoziierter Professor in der Veterinärvirologie in Bern, wo er von 1989 bis zur Pensionierung im Jahr 2022 die Schweizerische Tollwutzentrale leitete. Nebst der Virologie interessiert sich Reto Zanoni stets sehr für das Geschehen auf dieser Welt, das er auch rege in Leserbriefen, Newsforen und auf Twitter kommentiert, und für zeitgenössische Musik. Er ist Vater von drei erwachsenen Kindern und lebt in Bern.
