Sir Edward Tyas Cook (18571919) was an English journalist, biographer, and man of letters. He founded the Westminster Gazette and edited several newspapers; he also edited the definitive collection of John Ruskin's writings. Cook wrote biographies as well as handbooks to the National Gallery, the Tate Gallery, and to the Greek and Roman antiquities in the British Museum.
