People had always been fascinated by creatures from traditional folklore. Tales of legendary monsters spark our interest and imagination, bringing some mystery and adventure to our otherwise ordinary lives. Such creatures that captivated man included an apelike beast that roamed freely but stayed hidden in its habitat.
In America, they called it Bigfoot. An imposing monster, some claimed, standing over six feet tall. Other witnesses say that it was even close to ten feet high. The creature’s popularity grew as more and more tales spread across the country. Not long, other versions of Bigfoot started to appear. In 1933, Hollywood introduced to us a hundred-foot-tall gorilla called King Kong. The giant ape was featured in several blockbuster films and became one of the most famous monsters worldwide. By the late 70s, we had our Bigfoot in space. Star Wars featured Chewbacca, the heroic Wookie warrior and co-pilot to Han Solo in their Millenium Falcon. In 1987, there was Harry and the Hendersons, a comedy adventure story about a friendly Bigfoot living as part of the Henderson family. To this day, Hollywood, using its magic of filmmaking, continues to fuel our fascination with towering apes and other mythical creatures alike.

This series features some of the most popular mythical creatures that have prevailed across the globe. Despite having no solid proof regarding their existence, legends and stories about them continue to persist in the modern world.
