The content of the book by Vladimir Gilyarovsky "Moscow and Muscovites" is already spoken by the name itself. The writer brightly, but without embellishments, talks about the life of the capital and its inhabitants, from the very social "bottom" and finishing with the aristocrats' delights, conveys the atmosphere of Moscow at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries. The book immediately became a kind of visiting card of the capital, and its author entered the galaxy of classics of Russian literature.
