Ivan Kotlyarevskyi's "Moscow Magician" is a vaudeville on a family theme. Fintyk is courting Tatyana, but she makes it clear that he has nothing to hope for, because she loves her husband. Despite the lightness of the genre, there is a serious conflict in the play: the problem of loyalty and morality. Fintyk appears as a lover, Tatiana is the personification of traditional virtues. The image of a cunning Muscovite pretending to be a magician is also interesting.
