Academician, writer Sead Mahmutefendic, (Sarajevo, 1949) graduated from elementary school in Konjic and high school in Konjic (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He studied literature and languages in Belgrade. He was a teacher of native languages and Latin. Published a large number of novels, collections of stories, essays, columns and reviews of literary works. He is the author of 40 books, translated into ten world languages, of which the largest number is in English. His novel "The Golden Legend and the Flowers of Sanctity" was declared Best Seller for February 2020. At the Scientific Conference on his literary, essayistic and journalistic work, held In 2012, Modern heretical apocryphal writing on the pre-apocalypse, it was emphasized that this is a writer whose creative work, based on stylistic, poetic and linguistic references, can be contextualized in the South Slavic, European, and even global literary space. His literature is focused on beauty and the beauty of living, and for him writing is the love of life. His literary work answers the questions of where so much violence, evil and lies among people come from. His novels and short stories describe - in a wide range from compassion to irony to scathing satire Proclaimed Author of the Year twice in 2001 and 2017 In 2016, he was nominated for a prestigious award IMPAC Dublin award for the best novel in the English language for Placebo: The Beauty and Horror of Lies. He won an award for newspaper stories and poems.
