MARIAN PRENTICE HUNTINGTON dedicates herself to serving immigrant and impoverished families in her community, and works to improve the health of homeless and vulnerable children through a charity she founded, NovatoSpirit. Previously, she was an investigative reporter for the Pulitzer-prizewinning Point Reyes Light newspaper and a professor of journalism at Sonoma State University. She is also the author of Anis Asylum, about helping an immigrant family achieve political asylum in the U.S., and has been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the World of Childrens Humanitarian Award and the Marin County Womens Hall of Fame.
